Job Description

The Food & Beverage Supervisor reports to the Tavern General Manager and is responsible for ensuring visitors to the hotel are delighted by the quality, creativity and variety of our food and beverage offerings, and our culinary reputation is second-to-none in our local market. As the Supervisor, you will be responsible for serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our team members.

  • Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture of Mattei’s Tavern.

  • Ensure that all team members  feel welcome and are given the proper resources and training tools to provide responsive, professional, and gracious service at all times

  • Understand completely all programs, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines and training programs as it relates to Mattei’s Tavern

  • Displays consistent attention to detail and follow-through of all restaurant policies.

  • Represents the restaurant professionally through effective communication, cooperation and relationships with all of the business partners and guests.

  • Monitor servers, runners, and other restaurant team members and ensure adherence to all service standards and SOPs

  • Supervise service of guests, being watchful of signals from guests in need of service

  • Assist manager to establish and monitor side-work duty completion

  • Read daily communication sheets from the previous shift and prepare one for the following shift. Check for all personnel call offs and check floor plan for coverage.

  • Check the restaurant for cleanliness and set up. 

  • Check tables for cleanliness and proper set up.

  • Communicate daily with restaurant managers with regard to special events, house counts, etc.

  • Assist restaurant managers in conducting training as it relates to the F&B department

  • Assist with multiple outlets at the Resort including but not limited to The Tavern, Felix Feed & Coffee, Bar & Lounge, Shed & In Room Dining.

  • Other duties as assigned

$24.72/hour based on experience

 


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2-4 years of upscale service experience. Knowledge of service and food and beverage, generally involving at least 4 years of restaurant experience, service procedures, and functions.

  • Cleanliness, organization and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position.

  • Advanced wine and spirits knowledge.

  • Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol.

  • Applicants must possess strong communication skills, with dedication toward learning and motivation to progress in a fine dining environment.

  • Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a modern POS system.

  • Must be impeccably groomed, maintain good hygiene, good posture and have required uniform and tools.

  • Responsive to constructive feedback from Chefs, Managers or staff.

  • Food Handlers Certification or equivalent

  • Responsible Beverage certification
