Join our team as Director of Wine & Spirits and become one of the authors of our story while progressing our established award winning wine program. The Director of Wine & Spirits is key in shaping the guest experience through a variety of avenues ranging from initial arrival, post-treatment at the spa, poolside, private dining and restaurant experiences. Though based in the restaurant, the Director of Wine & Spirits will be involved in all beverage related programs & services throughout the property in collaboration with outlet managers and with the support of the Director of Operations. The Director of Wine & Spirits must also be a leader and manager for all services within the restaurant.
- Curation and maintenance of the wine & beverage program throughout the hotel in a way that reflects the ethos of Auberge du Soliel.
- Minimum of 2 nights on the floor to sell wine & spirits and coach team members on suggestive selling.
- Beverage ordering and inventory of the property.
- Support the curation and maintenance of wine & beverage programs at all other outlets throughout the property.
- Provide expert knowledge of wine and spirits to the team and guests alike.
- Support and develop the culture of learning for team members through beverage education, trips, and courtyard tastings.
- Conduct wine & beverage inventory monthly.
- Meet and exceed COGS budget.
- Track inventory and purchases and oversee organization of storage rooms.
- Actively seek opportunities to connect with the guests.
- Guide team members in ways to “find the yes” for the guest.
- Cultivate Regulars and continue to find ways to strengthen the property.
- Thoughtfully and thoroughly compile, find, serve and educate on wine, beer, spirits and non-alcoholic beverages to enhance the guest experience.
- Maintain product knowledge documents with support of managers.
- Train team members on all new products.
- Assist to continually develop and grow the knowledge of team members through training and line-ups.
- Ensure all POS systems, inventories and lists for wine and beverages are up-to-date and accurate.
- Salary range of 100K-120K + Incentive Bonus

- This position requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders and a deep understanding of wine, spirits, and beverages.
- A minimum of 5 years of beverage experience with at least 2 in a managerial role
- Sommelier experience & certification.
- Prior fine dining experience, preferably including experience in a freestanding restaurant
- Extensive knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Full understanding of inventory management and troubleshooting
- Ability to remain calm and prioritize in stressful situations
- Ability to lead the floor and a manager
- Ability to open and close the restaurant
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Knowledge of Google Suite
- Knowledge of reservations system software, POS systems, and inventory management system
- Strong organizational skills and a passion of the details
- Manager ServeSafe
- Knowledge of food and beverage pairings
- Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
